Terms and Conditions for Participation

1. General

(1)The Women in Data Scholarship is offered by StackFuel GmbH in cooperation with Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG. In the following, both are collectively referred to as “the scholarship providers”.

(2)The scholarship includes free participation in a Data Analyst course provided by StackFuel GmbH. The course design is based on the design of a regular Data Analyst course from StackFuel as described herein. There is no claim to an identical implementation. 

(3) The scholarship will be conducted by the scholarship providers and will take place in the period from 03.07.2021 to 21.11.2021.

2. Application participation

(1) The application for participation is free of charge and only possible in the period from 18.05.2021 00:00 CEST to 10.06.2021 23:59 CEST. 

(2) Participation in the application is subject to the consent to the transmission, processing and storage of personal data by StackFuel GmbH and Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG. Details are governed by the data protection regulations for the application process (see below).

(3)  In principle, natural persons who identify as women, have their domicile or permanent residence in Germany, Austria or Switzerland and have reached the age of 18 are eligible to apply. Further details are set out in the application criteria (see point 7).  

(4) Applications can only be submitted via the designated website (link) by processing and completing the individual application steps. Submission via other communication channels is not permitted and will automatically result in the application not being considered. 

(5) The placement test is to be carried out exclusively by the person applying and without unauthorized aids in the time provided. 

(6)  If an applicant has knowingly or accidentally provided false information in the application that would exclude them from eligible participation in the scholarship or assign them to no or another prioritization group, the scholarship providers reserve the right to exclude this person from the application or scholarship participation at any time. In the event of exclusion after participation has already begun, there is no entitlement to full or partial payment of the equivalent value of the purchase price of a StackFuel GmbH Data Analyst training course. The same applies to deception or attempted deception in the execution of the placement test or a successful placement test by a third person on behalf of the person applying. 

(7) The selection of scholarship holders for the Women in Data Scholarship is made by the scholarship providers on the basis of the application criteria listed here. There is no obligation to inform applicants about the reasons for acceptance or rejection of the scholarship. Legal recourse is excluded.

(8) Should an applicant not be able to participate in the scholarship after a successful selection process, this must be communicated to the scholarship providers by e-mail (scholarship@stackfuel.com) as soon as possible. 

(9) A successful application does not constitute a legal claim to actual participation in the scholarship. Participation or the scholarship as a whole can be cancelled by the scholarship providers at any time before the start of the scholarship as well as during the scholarship without giving reasons. 

3. Scholarship participation

(1) A prerequisite for participation in the scholarship is the transmission, processing and storage of personal data by the scholarship providers, as well as a collection and storage of learning data, which arise in the course of the course implementation, by StackFuel GmbH. Further details are regulated by the data protection provision for course participation here. 

(2) The prerequisite for participation in the scholarship is the consent from the participant that pictures and video recordings may be taken of them in a group setting (e.g. at a welcome event) and that these may be used for communication and marketing purposes on channels of the scholarship providers and other cooperation partners. This granting of rights of use is free of charge, irrevocable, and unrestricted in terms of time, space, and content, and includes storage and dissemination without restrictions regarding the storage and dissemination media. The recordings may be edited or redesigned while respecting personal rights. 

(3) Participation in the scholarship requires the availability of the participant’s own computer or a computer provided by the participant, as well as a stable Internet connection for the entire duration of the scholarship. 

(4) Participation in the scholarship includes free participation in StackFuel’s Data Analyst course over the period listed on the application page. There is no legal claim to participation in another period or in another course offered and conducted by StackFuel GmbH. 

(5) In the event of non-attendance or unsuccessful completion of the training, there shall be no claim to full or partial payment of the equivalent value of the purchase price of a StackFuel GmbH Data Analyst course. 

(6) A leave of absence in the existing employment relationship of an applicant is based exclusively on the voluntary decision of the respective employer. There is no entitlement to compensation for the time off by the scholarship providers. 

4. Severability clause

(1) Should any provision of these Terms and Conditions for Participation be or become invalid in whole or in part, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions for Participation. In place of the invalid provision, the legally permissible provision that comes closest in economic terms to the meaning and purpose expressed in the invalid provision shall apply. The same shall apply in the event of a loophole in these Terms and Conditions for Participation.

Collection of general data and personal data  

 In order to apply for the Women in Data Scholarship, it is necessary to provide, process and store personal data. This will allow us to ensure that you are suitable for the scholarship and course participation, as well as to contact you as necessary as part of the application process. The collection of general data is necessary for the use of the website. The latter is carried out exclusively by StackFuel GmbH.

For what purpose do we process your data?

We process your personal data in order to 

  • determine if you are eligible to for participation in the scholarship 
  • check if you are eligible for prioritization in the application 
  • To be able to contact you if necessary 
  • To inform you about an acceptance or rejection and the next steps in the organization process 

  

For these purposes, the data is collected, processed and stored via the Typeform, iSpring Solutions and Microsoft Office services. The data protection provisions of the respective services also apply. Data transmitted via the Typeform service may also be processed in third countries.  

  

In the context of the applications, this data will be shared, jointly processed and stored among the above-mentioned parties of the scholarship providers.  

  

StackFuel GmbH collects and processes general data when you use the website in order to 

  • provide you with the best user experience 
  • optimize the website 
  • optimize communication for marketing purposes 

  

This general data and information may include:  

  • browser types and versions used 
  • the operating system used by the accessing system 
  • the website from which an accessing system arrives at our website (known as a referrer) 
  • the sub-pages, which are visited by an accessing system on our website 
  • the date and time of the visit to the website 
  • an Internet Protocol (IP) address 
  •  the Internet service provider of the accessing system  
  • other similar data and information that serve to avert danger in the event of attacks on our information technology systems.  

  

This list is not exhaustive. The data is stored in the server log files. 

  

When using this general data and information, we do not draw any conclusions about the data subject. Rather, this information is needed to correctly deliver the content of our website, to optimize the content of our website as well as the advertising for it, to ensure the permanent functionality of our information technology systems and the technology of our website as well as to provide law enforcement authorities with the information necessary for prosecution in the event of a cyber-attack. Therefore, the data and information collected anonymously will be used for statistical purposes only and with the aim of increasing the data protection and data security of our company so that we can ultimately ensure an optimal level of protection for the personal data we process. The anonymous data of the server log files are stored separately from any personal data provided by a data subject.

How long will the data be stored?

Your personal data will be stored for as long as is necessary to manage the application and candidate selection process and for a backup period of six months after the end of the application phase. Your application master data will then be completely anonymized in order to use it to optimize our offer.  

The general data is stored as long as it is necessary for the improvement of the website and communication or as required by law.  

What rights do you have under the General Data Protection Regulation?

You have the right to receive information about your stored data (Article 15 GDPR). If inaccurate personal data is processed, you have the right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR). If the legal requirements are met, you can request the deletion or restriction of the processing as well as object to the processing (Articles 17, 18 and 21 GDPR). Furthermore, you have the right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR). In addition, there is a right of appeal to a supervisory authority for data protection.

Privacy Policy for the Course Participation

Collection of personal and learning data 

As part of our course implementation, specification, processing and storage of personal data is necessary. In order to be able to participate in the course, it is therefore necessary to provide your personal data. In order to be able to support all participants in the course in the best possible way, we also analyze the general and individual training progress of all scholarship participants. In this way, our training team can take your personal learning progress into account and offer you tailor-made support and targeted solutions to problems. It also allows us to determine if you qualify to successfully complete the course. After completion of the course, the user account (master data) will be deleted if the participant is not taking part in another course. Existing learning data is anonymized and used to optimize and improve course content.  

In the following, you will learn what happens to your data and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation. 

Who is responsible for the processing?

For what purpose do we process your data?

We process your data to provide the best training experience and to present the scholarship to the public. We use your information to: 

  • provide you with access to our platform 
  • provide you with information about the training process 
  • support you in your course 
  • provide you with a certificate and to reissue it in case of loss 
  • constantly improve the courses and the platform 
  • To provide impressions of course participation to the public. This refers exclusively to image and sound recordings in a group setting during the scholarship participation. 

  

We use your contact details, image and sound recordings, IP address, learning progress data and any other data that you voluntarily provide for this purpose. The processing of the data is based on Article 6 para. 1 lit. b) and f) GDPR in connection with your interest in gaining new knowledge and our interest in improving the courses.   

  

Your data will only be passed on to processors who provide essential services for the implementation of the course. They always remain in the EU. If you use the forum, other course participants can also view your messages. 

How long will the data be stored?

Your learning data will be stored as long as necessary for the course and a backup period of six months. Your learning progress data is then completely anonymized and used to improve our services.  

  

The image and sound recordings in the group setting will be shared on digital channels of the scholarship providers and the channels may be freely chosen at the discretion of the scholarship providers. This includes LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, for example. This list is not exhaustive and the respective data protection provisions of the platform also apply. Publication on these platforms is without a time limit. Duplication by unauthorized third parties is not permitted on these platforms, but can never be ruled out due to the technical circumstances.  

What rights do you have under the General Data Protection Regulation?
